Support House effort to uncover left-wing violence

The day after my friend and ally, Charlie Kirk, conservative and pro-life activist and leader of Turning Point USA, was shot to death in a political assassination, many began speaking of the fact that this is an asymmetrical problem. In other words, the violence comes from the Left, not the Right.
U.S. Rep. Chip Roy of Texas wrote a letter to congressional leaders, calling for the formation of a committee to investigate the radical left and the deadly violence it advocates and funds.
“In the wake of numerous attacks on our way of life, the destruction of the rule of law, and the murder of innocent Americans, prominent and unknown alike, we must take every step to follow the money and uncover the force behind NGOs, donors, media, public officials and all entities driving this coordinated attack,” Roy wrote in the letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson, Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer.
The letter references the shooting of several Republican lawmakers at a baseball practice in 2017 - when Louisiana Republican Rep. Steve Scalise was seriously injured and three others shot - and attributes it to “the sustained breakdown of law and order” fueled by “anti-American ideology.”
Thirty House members have signed on to the letter. I’m coming to you today to ask you to thank your representative if they have signed, and to urge those who haven’t - Republican or Democrat - to do so as soon as possible.
This radical left-wing activity is completely opposed to the pro-life movement and we have hundreds of examples of how we, too, are targets in this campaign to destroy the America we love. I’m sure you recall the attacks on pregnancy resource centers, churches and pro-life offices following the leak of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022. One group liked to scrawl the threat, “If abortion isn’t safe, neither are you,” on the buildings it vandalized.
Two years ago, two pro-life activists - ages 73 and 84 - were brutally attacked outside a Baltimore Planned Parenthood and their assailant won’t spend a single day behind bars.
Priests for Life wholeheartedly supports Rep. Roy’s determination to find out who is funding and directing so much violence in our country.
This is not just a matter of punishing the Left. It’s a matter of protecting our prolife movement and its advocates, organizations, people and property.
