Urge the House to Pass Nationwide Requirement for Voter ID

Dear Friends,
“If the Democrats didn’t have double standards, they’d have no standards at all.”
That was the spot-on assessment of U.S. Rep. Pat Fallon of Texas, speaking to Fox News this week.
I’m sure you remember that when Joe Biden was sworn in as president in 2021 and the Democrats had a majority in the House, they wasted no time in introducing H.R. 1, For the People Act. The bill would have expanded voter registration by allowing automatic voter registration, same-day registration and online registration - a recipe for fraud if ever there was one. It also would have limited states’ abilities to require voter ID at the polls.
The bill also purported to reduce confusion by creating minimum national standards and preventing voter roll purges that Democrats saw as disproportionately harming minorities, young voters, and low-income voters - in other words, people who vote for Democrats.
It was an attempt at a total federal takeover of elections to benefit their party. Thankfully, that bill died in the Senate after passing the House.
Now, with Republicans in the majority and the House set to vote on another voting bill, the SAVE America Act, Democrats are doing their “the sky is falling routine.”
H.R. 7296, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act - or SAVE America Act - was introduced Jan. 30 by Texas Rep. Chip Roy.
This act, very simply, would require voters to prove citizenship while registering to vote and to show ID when showing up to vote in federal elections.
The Democrats are trotting out their absurd and time-worn arguments that minorities would not be able to get any of the necessary documents - like driver’s licenses, birth certificates or naturalization papers. That’s racist if I ever saw it.
But even though the legacy media lets Democrats get away with these accusations without backing them up in any way, the truth is that their argument does not ring true.
As Rep. Fallon said in his Fox interview, “it’s insulting to minorities to say they can’t get an ID.” That’s the truth. Think of all the places an ID is necessary: Airports, doctors’ offices, banks, government buildings, rental car offices - the list goes on and on.
The House is set to vote on the bill this week; it’s path in the Senate is less certain.
And although this bill is not about abortion, the fact is that we can only end abortion in America if we have secure elections. It is the pro-abortion candidates – and their party – who cheat.
And then once in office, they vote for abominations like the Women’s Health Protection Act (2021), which would have repealed every pro-life law at every level of government.
Passing the SAVE America Act is vital if we want to save our democracy and if we want to continue to have the ability to pass laws that protect the unborn and their mothers.
