Urge the Senate to pass SAVE America Act

Dear Friends,
Right now, the SAVE America Act is the most important piece of legislation in Congress, for the good of America and for the unborn. It will secure our elections by requiring voter ID across the country.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the SAVE America Act in February by a vote of 218-213. If you were one of the hundreds of people who responded to our action alert and contacted your House member to urge a Yes vote, give yourself a hand, and know you have my gratitude.
But we’re only halfway there and there’s a tough road ahead. The Republican, pro-America, pro-life majority in the Senate is not wide enough to pass the bill with the 60 votes needed to bypass the filibuster. So we need to make a change in the filibuster.
You likely recall an earlier alert we sent about doing exactly that, and the change is simple: if you want to extend debate before voting on a bill – then debate! Don’t just sit there and refuse to vote. Make it a real filibuster. But if you don’t have anything to say against the bill, then let the Senate vote on it.
We have to get a majority of the Senate to be willing to change the filibuster rule. Change it, and we’re home free. But this is not guaranteed.
So I need you to ask them to do two things: vote to change the filibuster, and then vote for the bill.
To be clear, there is no “overreach” in the SAVE America Act. The legislation would require
- That in registering to vote, people have to show they are citizens of the United States.
- That in voting, people have to show a photo ID, and
- That states eliminate mail-in ballots except for those who are ill, disabled, traveling, or in the military, and
- That states take new steps to remove noncitizens from existing voter rolls.
The deluded Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer calls the bill “Jim Crow 2.0” and says it would make it hard for people of color and those with low income to vote. What a racist! He never details exactly how that’s the case - because it’s not!
The bill in the Senate is S 1383, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act. And although this bill is not about abortion, the fact is that we can only end abortion in America if we have secure elections. The ones who benefit from cheating are the pro-abortion politicians. Passing the SAVE America Act is vital if we want to save our democracy and if we want to continue to have the ability to pass laws that protect the unborn and their mothers.
This is a common-sense bill supported by a majority of Americans. Now we just need the Senate to support it, and that’s where you come in.
