The Lindsay Clancy Saga Made Me Think of This…

Dear Friends,
If you are paying attention to the trial of Lindsay Clancy who admits killing her three young children, I know you are as heartsick as I am at the loss of these precious innocents AND at the outpouring of support for the mother. Yes, clearly she had mental health issues following the birth of her eight-month-old son, but the crowds of people in pink shirts outside the courthouse could not care less about him, or his 3-year-old brother or 5-year-old sister.
How can that be? It’s simple: Legal abortion has warped the thinking of many - way too many - of our fellow Americans. We have dehumanized the children in the womb, and that attitude has clearly poisoned the way some people think about all children.
Now, these people who support the mother are not going to go home and kill their children or grandchildren.
But many of them are going to vote, and you can bet the farm on the fact that too many of them will NOT be voting for the pro-life candidate.
Every single one of us has to be heavily involved in the midterm elections, which begin with early voting in some states in just a few days. If you are part of a parish, you are in a perfect position to influence many people.
There are many opportunities for getting involved in the elections in your church - everything from urging your pastors to include special election-related prayers to setting up - SOON - a voter registration table.
