"God’s
relationship to his people comes before all of us, it comes
from that time,” and thus, “in this sense, our thoughts go
first, with gratitude, to those who have gone before us and
who welcomed us into the Church. No one becomes a Christian by
himself! Is this clear? Nobody becomes a Christian by himself.
Christians are not made in a lab. Christians are part of a
people that has come a long way. Christians belong to a people
called the Church and the Church makes us Christians on the
day of our Baptism. Of course, then comes the catechesis and
so many [other] things. But no one, no one becomes a Christian
by himself."

Here we will encourage women to engage in a sincere
and personal relationship with Christ by helping them
understand how God needs to be a part of their lives every day
and everywhere they go. Part of this discussion will be based
on comments from Pope Francis who is frequently encouraging
“taking the Gospel with us” and also Teresa Tomeo’s new book
“Walk Softly.” We interview parish priest and a pastor in the
Archdiocese of Detroit about his ideas on getting closer to
God. |

The Kitchen Madonna:
Patroness of The
Catholic View for Women
Mary was not only Jesus' Mother, but also a housewife.
Her utensils are earthly and heavenly symbols. The key
represents the safety in the house and also the way
into heaven. The kettle symbolizes nourishment for
body and soul. The broom represents cleanliness in the
home and in thoughts and deeds.
