Plan of Action to Make the Church Pro-life Again and End Abortion
Introduction
Only the Catholic Church can end abortion. That’s because the Church is the Body of Christ and so carries out the mission of Christ. Jesus is Life (the Bread of Life, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life). Therefore, to stand with Christ is to stand with life and to stand against whatever destroys life. And while there are many organizations that fight abortion, only the Church has the Divine guarantee of victory in this fight. Jesus declared, “The gates of hell will not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). Gates do not run out onto a battlefield to attack the enemy; rather, they defend the city against the enemy attacking it. The Lord is saying the Church will succeed when attacking the kingdom of death and hell.
Dr. Bernard Nathanson, the key architect of the abortion industry in America, knew this. When he became pro-life and spoke to the clergy about the efforts he and his colleagues undertook, said, “We would never have gotten away with what we did, if you had been united, purposeful and strong.” Let’s not miss what the other side has known from the beginning, namely:
The biggest obstacle to the culture of death is the Church and if we rise to the occasion now, the proponents of abortion will not get away with what they are still trying to do.
For that reason Priests for Life has dedicated 2026 to be the year we Make the Catholic Church Pro-life Again! The sad reality is that, while there are many clergy in the Church who preach against abortion, the Church’s leadership is woefully silent when it comes to teaching the laity why abortion is the single greatest evil in the world today and then leading them to join the fight to end abortion.
So Priests for Life will hammer home with the clergy the TRUTH that the RIGHT TO LIFE is the fundamental human right and the right upon which all other human rights depend. Given the wobbly approach to abortion that we witness too often from Church leaders Priests for Life’s voice must be louder than ever in 2026. We must fill the void our Church leaders have shamelessly allowed to take hold in our parishes and work to achieve two critical objectives:
- To awaken shepherds who are asleep and implore them to do their duty.
Priests for Life will challenge them to ACT like abortion is the “pre-eminent issue” for all believers, as they say it is. We will call on them to LEAD God’s people with concrete ACTION instead of meaningless platitudes and pious slogans. After all: ACTIONS speak louder than words.
And we will reinforce that challenge by sending every bishop, priest, pastor and deacon in the country a copy of Priests for Life’s one-of-a-kind Ending Abortion Pro-life Primer. I included a copy of our primer with my letter so you can see for yourself how it dismantles every excuse and rationalization Church shepherds use to excuse their refusal to rouse the laity to action in the fight against abortion.
- To call God’s people to arms and to action.
Sometimes the flock must lead the shepherds. If they won’t speak, we will. Like the prophet Ezekiel, Priests for Life will sound the alarm and warn God’s people that they must turn to God and follow His commands and end abortion – or risk losing their souls and their nation.
In doing so we will recruit a pro-life army that will fight to defend unborn babies and their families from the abortionists. The ultimate goal is nothing less than this:
To make abortion in America UNTHINKABLE!
Listed below are some of the ways Priests for Life’s $2,500,000 Plan of Action to Make the Church
Pro-life Again will recruit the army of pro-life activists who will fight to accomplish that objective.
- Intensity our work with the CLERGY in an effort to get them actively involved in the fight to end abortion. It is estimated that each member of the clergy impacts the lives and thinking of 10,000 people. We will do this through:
- The pages of our unique Ending Abortion Pro-life Primer. We will send a copy to every bishop, pastor, priest and deacon in the country.
- The Good Shepherd Project where we provide monthly training seminars for priests and deacons (www.TheGoodShepherdProject.com).
- One-on-one pro-life training to priests, deacons and seminarians.
- Our parish visits where our priests and pastoral associates preach the Gospel of Life directly to the people, and our speaking at pastors’ conferences.
- Our weekly pro-life bulletin inserts for every Catholic parish in America.
- The weekly homily tips we send to every priest and deacon in the country.
BUDGET: $450,000
- Recruit more Catholics and other people of faith into the Priests for Life family. In 2026 Priests for Life plans to transform FIVE MILLION people into ardent pro-life activists by way of:
- The Pro-Life Primer that we will send to pro-life leaders around the country.
- Action-oriented letters mailed directly to pro-life recruits in their homes.
- Emails sent to pro-life activists on a weekly basis.
- Text messages sent to them on their cell phones.
- Recruitment notices sent out over social media and TV / radio programming.
- Face-to-face sign ups at churches all across the country.
BUDGET: $1,150,000
- Expand the size of the listening audience for our pro-life outreach over TV, radio and social media. Here is our current programming along with the viewers/listeners reached:
- Priests for Life’s 24 / 7 EndAbortion.TV, the online channel of Priests for Life.
Our viewing audience has grown to 100,000 regular viewers.
- Broadcasts on SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Right now, Priests for Life reaches close to A MILLION people EVERY DAY.
- Advertising on social media platforms. Ads to targeted groups of people have the potential to reach millions of people and recruit them to help end abortion.
- Priests for Life’s End Abortion Podcast is the #1 podcast in the world on the topic of abortion with close to TWO MILLION plays on SoundCloud.
- Our weekly one-hour pro-life “Gospel of Life” radio show on Radio Maria is broadcast in over 40 languages, airs in 65 countries and has a worldwide audience.
- My daily one-minute pro-life radio spots that air on the Bott Broadcasting radio network. The potential listening audience is over 30 MILLION listeners!
