The Florida Right to Life “Love for Life” Benefit Gala will be attended by a veritable who’s who in Florida’s Republican politics.
Scheduled to speak at the Jan. 16 event in Jacksonville are U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody; Lt. Gov. Jay Collins and former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner. The evening’s special guest speaker will be Tim Tebow, a college and professional football player who is now a well-known pro-life author and philanthropist.
While his mother, Pam Tebow, was pregnant with Tim, she was advised by doctors in the Philippines to abort her child because she was suffering from dysentery while she and her husband were serving as missionaries. She refused to end her child’s life. He was born healthy and went on to win football’s highest honor for college athletes, the Heisman Trophy.
The gala will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. For tickets or more information, go to FRTLGala.org
The event will celebrate Florida Right to Life’s 54th anniversary and serve as a kickoff to the Florida March for the Preborn to take place the next day, Jan. 17, also in Jacksonville.
Priests for Life and Florida Right to Life are working with the Defending Life Alliance of Florida to organize the second annual Florida March for the Preborn.
Speakers the March will include Lianna Rebolledo, who chose life for her daughter after being sexually assaulted at 12 years old. She is the founder of Loving Life.
Other speakers include: Christine Yeargin, founder of Be Their Village; Emily Berning, founder and president of Let Them Live; Kimberly Bird of Live Action; Sarah Neely of Operation Rescue, and many more.
The March will be at James Weldon Johnson Park, 135 W. Monroe St, Jacksonville. An expo will open at 10 a.m., with speakers taking the stage at 11:30 a.m., followed by the March.
