Titusville, FL -- Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone today issued the following statement regarding the Wyoming Supreme Court striking down laws designed to protect the unborn and their mothers.
“Many justices across our nation aren’t very bright, as those in Wyoming proved by striking down laws that protect the most vulnerable human lives in the state,” Pavone said. “No state constitution in our nation’s history was ever crafted with a right to abortion in mind. Moreover, abortion is not health care. It is devoid of medical necessity, violates the first principle of medicine, and rather than helping the body do what it’s supposed to do but is having trouble doing, it does just the opposite.
“The justices who ruled incorrectly in this case, moreover, are jurisprudentially behind the times. In the age of Dobbs, deference is given to the people and their elected representatives to set abortion policy, and the people and elected representatives of Wyoming have spoken quite clearly. This decision will not stand. The people of Wyoming, starting today, should use this misguided and destructive decision in vigorous educational campaigns to show everyone in the state how out of touch the abortion industry and its advocates are from the meaning of liberty and the values of Wyoming citizens.”
