WASHINGTON, D.C. - Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone issued the following statement on the eve of the anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision of 1973, which has led to the death of 66 million unborn children in the United States:

“Like Sept. 11 and Dec. 7, January 22 is a day that will live in infamy. Roe is reversed, but its damage continues and is incalculable. Like other days when violence attacked not only human lives but the very principles by which we live, we must never forget what happened on January 22.

“We honor the memory of the victims, and we pledge to never allow this kind of violence against the innocent.”

The anniversary also marks Pavone’s 50 years in the pro-life movement. On Jan. 22, 1976, when he was a senior at Port Chester High School in New York, he attended his first March for Life. The event cemented his vocation and passion for pro-life issues. He has attended every March for Life since then.
