TITUSVILLE, FL - The leadership of Priests for Life today expressed support for a bill introduced by Sen. Josh Hawley, (R-MO) that would withdraw FDA approval of the chemical abortion drug mifepristone, and establish a path for women who have been harmed physically or emotionally to seek damages.

“We are in a Golden Age of America, and we celebrate the renewed emphasis on making America healthy again,” said Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone. “It’s time, therefore, to recognize how destructive abortion is not only to the child in the womb, but to the health of the mother, and to take steps to protect mothers from this devastation.”

“This bill puts the focus on the women harmed by chemical abortion and that’s important,” said Executive Director Janet Morana. “More babies are killed by chemical abortion than by any other method and that is a tragedy. Mothers, too, are suffering trauma, physical injury and even death and allowing it to be sent through the mail makes it virtually unregulated, available to everyone from teenage girls to reluctant fathers.

“It is a bad drug. Recall mifepristone.”
