TITUSVILLE, FL -- Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone today responded on X and in LifeNews.com to two U.S. Catholic bishops who apologized for praying with President Trump.

Milwaukee Archbishop Jeffrey Cobb, in a “Public Apology” on the archdiocesan website, said “I apologize for any damage my actions have done.”

Bishop William Joensen of Des Moines said he thought the prayer event was exploited for partisan purposes.

“The response from these bishops is embarrassing for Catholics,” Pavone said. “No President or Administration or Republican Congress has done more for our faith, our families and our freedom than the one we have right now. Study the record.

“It is an honor to pray with this President, as I’ve done numerous times. We’re all free to disagree with specific policies when we feel the need to do so. But to fail to see the overwhelming advantages we have under this President is willful blindness, and to interpret his gracious invitation to pray together as partisan manipulation is rash judgment,” Pavone said.

“We deserve better from our bishops.”
