Father Pavone To Speak At Our Lady Of The Valley, Birmingham, AL on July 10, 2001

Fr. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, will speak at the Birmingham Banquet for Life on July 10 at Our Lady of the Valley Church beginning with Mass at 6 p.m.

Father Pavone has been active in the pro-life movement since 1976. He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of New York by John Cardinal O'Connor in 1988. He served for five years as a parish priest at St. Charles Church in Staten Island. He also taught theology at St. Joseph s Seminary and other institutions.

In September of 1993, with the permission of Cardinal O'Connor, he became National Director of Priests for Life. In this full-time position, he has traveled to all of the 50 states and to five continents, preaching and teaching against abortion and helping other priests do the same.

He conducts seminars on pro-life strategy for clergy and for many organizations. He is regularly invited to speak at national and international pro-life gatherings, and is often quoted in national and local media.

Father Pavone has produced many television and radio programs on abortion, including, his ongoing series on the worldwide Eternal Word Television Network.

In 1997, he was asked by the Vatican to coordinate pro-life activities throughout the world as an official of the Pontifical Council for the Family.

In 1999, the Daily Catholic named Father Pavone in the top third of the Top 100 Catholics of the Century.

Everyone is invited to attend. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop David E. Foley at 6 p.m. followed by dinner in the church gymnasium at 7.

Our Lady of the Valley Church is located off of Interstate 65 taking the Highway 119 Exit #246. Turn east on Highway 119. The Church is four miles down on the right.
