A Visit with Mother Teresa

Publication Date: September 23, 1994

The Rev. Frank A. Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, had a four-day visit this summer with Mother Teresa at her Motherhouse in Calcutta, India. While there, he was able to say Mass for the sisters, to give them talks on the Pro-Life Movement, and to have several personal meetings with Mother Teresa.

After hearing one of his talks to the nuns, Mother Teresa said to him: "This would be very good for our priests." She then took him to the archbishop's resident in Calcutta for a meeting with the vicar general, to arrange for a series of talks to the priests, seminarians, and religious of India.

"Priests for Life is acquiring an international character," Pavone said. "We are very grateful to Mother Teresa for her leadership on pro-life issues. May all priests and laity follow her courageous example."
