A niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. pays a visit to Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

Dr. Alveda Celeste King marched in the civil rights movement.

She worked in Birmingham, Alabama, when the 1963 church bombings occurred.

She says Galilee Church is a testament to everything her family, and the African-American community has worked toward.

In 1958 and 1962, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. held speech rallies outside the church.

His speeches there helped initiate the civil rights movement in Shreveport.
