NEW YORK – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today following more than 300 rallies outside of Planned Parenthood abortion mills around the country:
“I am grateful to all the pro-life people who have responded to my invitation and that of some 40 other national pro-life groups to gather today to protest Planned Parenthood.
“The protests arising on the streets of America today reflect the protests arising in our hearts over the reality of abortion. These gatherings are held with concern for all and malice towards none. They arise from a fervent desire that American will again be a nation with liberty and justice not just for some, but for all. Protection of the law must be restored quickly to children in the womb, and those rallying across the nation today are committed to make that happen.
“I have announced at the rally in New York City that the pro-life movement will increase its efforts not only to pressure the government to stop supporting Planned Parenthood, but to pressure businesses to stop donating to Planned Parenthood.
“Today also marks the start of a week of prayer and fasting, coordinated by 30 national pro-life groups, with prayers found at www.PrayerCampaign.org. We invite all Churches, families, and individuals to take part in it.”
Father Pavone was a speaker at today’s protest outside the Margaret Sanger Center in Manhattan.
