NEW YORK -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, welcomed today the announcement from House Speaker John Boehner that he has appointed the Republican members of the Investigative Panel that will probe more deeply the practices of the abortion industry in America.
"I have sent a letter to each of the newly appointed members of this committee," stated Fr. Pavone, "pledging the full collaboration of Priests for Life. We have been investigating the abortion industry since the early 1990's, and can be of assistance to this effort."
"As my new book, Abolishing Abortion explains, you cannot practice vice virtuously. Those who get paid to kill children are doing a lot of other immoral -- as well as illegal -- activities as well. A key step in ending abortion is to expose the corruption of the abortion industry. This new Congressional panel will be another step in making that happen," Fr. Pavone concluded.
Following are the Republican members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s new Select Investigative Panel:
• Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Chairman (R-TN)
• Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA)
• Rep. Diane Black (R-TN)
• Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN)
• Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI)
• Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD)
• Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO)
• Rep. Mia Love (R-UT)
