WASHINGTON, D.C. – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, announced today that there will be special national protests against Planned Parenthood on Thursday, January 21, the day before the annual March for Life here.
“Each year, pro-life leaders and activists have gathered in front of the Planned Parenthood in DC, which used to be at 16th Street, but is now opening its new location at 1225 Fourth Street NE. We will be at the Fourth Street location to have a prayer rally from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21,” Fr. Pavone explained. “During this time, various national pro-life leaders will give spiritual reflections and exhortations to action, particularly on how to hold Planned Parenthood accountable for their immoral and illegal actions. We will pray, furthermore, the special prayers composed for the #PrayPP effort, a national prayer campaign to end the evils of abortion and Planned Parenthood.
“We encourage Churches, schools, pro-life groups, families and individuals who are coming to Washington for the March for Life to come a day early and join in this prayer rally. Among the other leaders who will be speaking at the rally are Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, and Bryan Kemper, Director of Stand True, the Youth Outreach of Priests for Life.
“Other rally activities at the Planned Parenthood site will also occur during the day, and further announcements will be made about those. We also invite people to join us for the National Prayer Service on the morning of Friday, January 22 at Constitution Hall, starting with Mass at 7:30 a.m. and an interdenominational prayer service from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
