NEW YORK -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said the first hearing of the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, set to convene this morning in Washington, D.C., is an important step forward in continuing to expose what is going on in the abortion industry in America.
The panel, chaired by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, (R-Tenn.), will hear testimony from expert witnesses in the field of bioethics and will delve into issues that include whether fetal tissue research violates human dignity; if fetal tissue should be grown for the purpose of transplant, and whether abortion clinics should equipment and expertise to care for children born alive after abortion.
"Priests for Life, as the largest Catholic organization focused on exposing the abortion industry and ending abortion, strongly supports the existence and work of this panel," said Fr. Frank. "The pastors, Churches, and lay supporters of our ministry are ready to be of service to this panel and its members. We are concerned, however, that the Democratic members of the panel will be more of a hindrance than a help, and wonder if they even appreciate the importance of the panel's work, given how the Democratic Party and the abortion industry have been in bed together for decades."
Before the hearings even started, three entities had to be subpoenaed to provide information.
