OUR LORD is “pressed in on every side”...so He gets into a Boat...so He can continue to talk the people. He speaks of SEEDS that fall....onto the Footpath, onto Rocky Soil some onto..... Good Soil which yield FRUIT.........a 100...60...or 30 fold.
OUR LORD IS TELLING us....God is very patient with us, because after receiving Baptism NOT every one is willing to accept the Food & Drink He offers to us...that is the SACRAMENTS.........especially His Body & Blood, Soul & Divinity in the Holy Eucharist.
THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER can be applied almost to everyone’s Life. Most people fall into 1 of 3 categories. Those who are always trying to seek & please God.....&....those whose Spirituality is not very deep....& those who are always running away from.....& rejecting God by SIN.
THIS IS WHAT OUR LORD means by the...Rocky Ground, Thorns, & Good Soil. The Trials, Troubles, Tests & Temptations that come our way......,when looked at spiritually,........seem as though God is like a TAILOR who measures us, just as He did with every Saint in Heaven....to see how BIG a garment He should make for us......that is a “Garment of SANCTITY.”
THE STRANGE THING is that.... it is WE who finally build our own HALO, or at least the SIZE of our our Halo depending on our FREE WILL...that is to say....how we accept, receive & use God’s Graces that HE holds out to us each day.
THERE ARE SOME who try to receive & use every Grace God gives. Others turn away from Grace....such as stop going to Mass...or stop receiving the Sacraments of Penance & the Holy Eucharist Evil is very much at work in this world of ours. We simply must use the means God holds out to us...IF we want to stay in Grace & grow in Virtue!
OFTEN WE DON’T LIKE what is happening. Some grumble just like the people in the time of Moses.......even when God is sending us all kinds of signals....through people, events, even “alarms” of Pope, Bishops, Civic & Religious Leaders....as we can read in the Old & New Testaments.
SOME IGNORE GOD’S MESSAGE.....
....EVEN WHEN THE VOICE OF CONSCIENCE IS SPEAKING TO THE HEART.
OUR LORD ONCE SAID...MK 4-9.....”LET EVERYONE HEED WHAT HE HEARS.”
