OUR LORD CLEARLY shows........His Understanding....& of the Bewilderment...& Fear of His Disciples.......as they learn that their Lord.... & Master...is going to leave them for awhile.....&... ascend into Heaven. So what does Our Lord do? He comforts them by saying.......”My Peace is My Gift to You.” “Do not let your Hearts be troubled...neither let them be afraid.” ( JO 14:1).
RE-ASSURANCE, CALM.... & PEACE..... is something we all Need, Want & Seek. AND we’re happy to have it when we get it! God knows we often need it! In every Mass we hear these words from Christ: “Peace be with you.” SO...what is this Peace we all Need, Want & Seek?
PEACE...is a State of Tranquility. It consists in FREEDOM from Oppression.....not only External Oppression such as.... Fighting.....Anger....or War....but also INTERNAL FREEDOM....that is Freedom from oppressing...Thoughts...Emotions...Anxiety...Worry....Fear...& the like.
THE CLOSER WE COME to this Kind....or Level of Freedom...from all these disturbing matters.....the closer, spiritual writers say, we are to being “Absorbed in God”...&....United to the Heart of Christ......where:
TRUE PEACE...TRANQUILITY...& HAPPINESS...reigns supreme! Our Lord knows how easily frightened we can become...as He prepares to leave us for Heaven. He soothes our fears by giving us Himself....that is...His own Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity in Holy Communion....which is the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
ALL THIS CAN BE OURS...if we only SEEK Christ...& STAY United to Him...through the three most important means.....He tells us to use Each day: MASS, PRAYER & THE SACRAMENTS. a LOYAL Follower of Christ will do whatever Christ asks....by being...Good...True....&...Faithful.
OUR LORD.....did say in REV 2:7 ”He who has an Ear, let him hear what the (Holy)Spirit says to the Churches.” When Jesus was Baptized in the River Jordan by St John the Baptist.....
.....THE VOICE OF GOD THE FATHER WAS HEARD:
”THIS IS MY BELOVED SON....IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.......LISTEN TO HIM.”
