IN BOTH READINGS today....we note an Amazing Similarity between the STAFF of...Moses......&....the Cross of Christ. The
Israelites of the Old Testament sinned...& were saved by....Gazing upon the Bronze Serpent......held up high by MOSES...
so they could ALL SEE it. ST JOHN the Apostle points out in 1 JO 1-8.....”If we say we have no sin, we deceive our selves, &
the Truth is not in us.”
MANKIND HAS SINNED....& is SAVED from Eternal Death...by the Salvation of Christ.... obtained for us...by being raised on
High upon the Cross....which Our Lord Himself foretold when HE said in......JO 12-32.......”When I am lifted up...I will draw
ALL to Myself.”
WE SHOULD also note that CHRIST CLEARLY STATES that He is GOD...the God made MAN. Then He adds...”when you lift up
the Son of Man...you will come to realize that...I AM....that is.....I AM God......Without any Beginning or END. Christ is the
Eternal Present. The HOLY TRINITY is a DOGMA....of our Catholic Faith:.....3 PERSONS in one God....God the Father, God the
Son,... & God the Holy Spirit. Christ is saying He is the SECOND PERSON of the Blessed Trinity...& He is PROVING it....by all
the MIRACLES He performs.
OUR LORD TOLD us in....MT 10:39.....”He who tries to Save his Life will Lose it...but he who Loses his Life for My sake will....
find it.” We simply cannot...& should not try to RUN FROM THE CROSS! The small Booklet...THE IMITATION OF CHRIST
points out that we have 2 Choices: We can carry our Cross Willingly......IF so....it will Carry us....OR...if Unwillingly we will
soon find another......perhaps even more burdensome!
IT IS IN THE CROSS...”through...with.....& in Christ”...as we say in every Mass......that we find the..... real, true meaning of LIFE
itself....AS ST PAUL SAYS....in ACTS: 17-28 .....“it is in Christ”...that....”we live move...& .... have our being.” CHRIST OUR LORD
is the very source of life. CHRIST is...IN US....in the Consecrated Host at every Mass This is called the Doctrine or Teaching of
the DIVINE INDWELLING.
WHEN THE PRIEST says the WORDS of CONSECRATION.....”This is My Body”....Christ becomes....”Really....&...Truly....
&... Substantially....Present....Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity in the Host”......under the APPEARANCES of Bread & Wine.
This is called the DOCTRINE OF TRANSUBSTANTIATION. We no longer speak of the HOSTS.....as Bread or Wine...even
.....though they.....look, taste & smell like Bread & Wine!
THOSE WHO PROMOTE & DEFEND ABORTION....are really Seeking themselves. They are Placing themselves
before ALL others even before God Himself! They are Turning away from the Lord...WHO IS LIFE ITSELF.....Christ
said in.....JO 14:6....”I am the Way, the Truth & the Life”...the WAY to Heaven.....TRUTH for our Minds.....& the LIFE
of GRACE for our Souls!
BY CHOOSING ABORTION they are really CHOOSING DEATH for themselves....& DEATH for the Innocent Human Life
of the Unborn Child. This is WHY Christ says they will Lose their Life....sometimes even their Physical Life. They also
lose the Life of Grace & Peace of Soul!
ONE MUST REPENT of the GRAVE SIN (MORTAL)... of Abortion....for the Church & Human History has always held
Abortion....together within INFANTICIDE.....as UNSPEAKABLE CRIMES. The US Supreme Court’s Ruling in 1973 in
the Case of ROE V WADE........Legalizing Abortion thru .....ALL 9 MONTH’S of Pregnancy......began to change public
opinion in the United States.....the REASONING being....”If it’s LEGAL it must be MORALLY O.K! This REASONING is
FALSE!....since many Laws that are considered LEGAL today.......are MORALLY WRONG, EVIL & SINFUL! Abortion is
one of them!
POPE SAINT JOHN PAUL’S Encyclical EVANGELIUM VITAE (“The Gospel of Life) addressed to the whole World states
....quoting the EXACT WORDS ”the Most Important Moral Issue in the World today.... second to Salvation itself....
is the Murder of Unborn Children. Among all Crimes that can be committed against Life......Procured Abortion has.
characteristics making it particularly “Serious & Deplorable.”
ANY SIN CAN BE FORGIVEN. We need only to recall the early days of the Church. Many BIG sinners were forgiven.
We can start with St. Peter, Paul, Thomas, Mary Magdalene.......& ALL of the Apostles......who ran Away from Christ
when He needed them the most. Nor should we forget the Old Testament: Prophets & Leaders: Moses, King David
....& of course St. Augustine. We also need to remember that...FORGIVENESS is Immediate...whereas HEALING often
takes many Decades....even Years.
ONLY IN CHRIST WHO is the Lord & Giver of LIFE....do we find Our Life & True Peace which CAN BE commensurate with
Suffering (the Cross). We do NOT find Life, Truth & Peace....by seeking our OWN WILL......in place of God’s Will...nor in
material Goods.......Nor in Goals devoid of the Spiritual........& certainly......NOT in Earthly Pleasures!
ONLY IN CHRIST.....”THROUGH HIM, WITH HIM & IN HIM”.....AS WE PRAY IN EVERY MASS.....
.....SO THAT WE MAY LIVE, BREATHE, & DIE...HOPEFULLY......AS SCRIPTURE SAYS.
.....ROM 14:8-9.... ”ALWAYS IN THE LORD”
