We continue here our series highlighting the members of the Priests for Life Family who serve on our staff and pastoral team.

Chris Conley first came into contact with Priests for Life when Pastoral Associate Alveda King spoke at a morning chapel service at her job at Christian Care Ministry in Melbourne, Florida. Though Chris enjoyed her job, the commute from Titusville to Melbourne was an issue, so when she heard Alveda describe the ministry and mission of Priests for Life, she found her way to our website and applied for a job as a gift entry associate.

The three-person department is a vital one, as the associates are responsible for assisting donors with their donations, processing deposits, collecting mail, maintaining the donor database and ensuring that the resource department receives orders that come in with donations.

“The work environment is very positive,” Chris says. “I enjoy all of my co-workers and my supervisor. I learn something new every day.”

The Florida staff “supports each other with humor and by listening to each other. Everyone is friendly and seems to genuinely care about each other’s well-being.”

Chris was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was raised in Stockdale, a small town in the southern part of the state. She attributes her pro-life passion to her upbringing in a Methodist home.

“It’s something I feel strongly about,” she says. “Fr. Frank and Janet have been very positive role models to learn from. They are very passionate about their mission.  I have learned a lot about the pro-life movement and am excited to learn more.”

Chris and her husband Darren have been married for 19 years. He is an Army veteran who works as a nurse at the Viera VA Medical Clinic. Chris and Darren are the parents of two daughters - Samantha, a freshman in high school, and Kayleigh, a senior.
