We continue here our series highlighting the members of the Priests for Life Family who serve or have served on our staff and pastoral team.
Social media manager Rob Collins has been working in social media since it became a thing, running pages on various platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc – and reaching millions of people. He was unofficially helping Priests for Life with its dozens of accounts before officially applying for the job and joining the Titusville staff in June 2018.
“I guess I had the qualifications they were looking for,” he says with a laugh.
Despite the very, very long hours he puts in, he’s thrilled to be part of the team.
“My wife and I – my whole family -- we’re extremely pro-life. What better job can you have than in an apostolate that’s working to save babies,” he asks. “It’s perfect! And I’ve always loved Priests for Life.”
His duties include curating, coordinating and analyzing all the social media that comes out of Priests for Life global. While he doesn’t post to all the accounts – Rachel’s Vineyard and Silent No More, for instance, handle their own posting – he does manage all of it.
He describes his work experience as “overwhelmingly positive. It’s like a family here. We’re a tight-knit team.”
How does he like working for National Director Father Frank Pavone and Executive Director Janet Morana?
“It’s demanding yet fulfilling,” he says. “There’s a lot of work to be done to stay on top in social media in the pro-life category, and we are on top. But we’re always seeking to improve.”
Rob is a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and he relocated to Titusville after spending 10 years in Atlanta. His wife, Heather, is an artist and a home-schooling mom to their two daughters, Mary, 12, and Gianna, 10.
