TITUSVILLE, FL -  “The pro-life movement is seeing one of the first fruits of President Trump’s appointment of three pro-life justices on the U.S. Supreme Court,” Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said today, one day after the Court ruled 6-3 that women will no longer be able to obtain lethal abortion drugs through the mail.

On Tuesday night, the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to grant a request from the federal Food and Drug Administration to reinstate a rule requiring women to obtain a prescription for the two-drug chemical abortion regimen from healthcare providers. A federal judge suspended the rule in July over concerns that in-person visits to abortion businesses would put patients and healthcare workers at risk of spreading the China virus.

“The suspension of the Trump administration rule was another example of judicial overreach,” Father Pavone said. “As Chief Justice John Roberts noted in the opinion, a judge does not have the medical expertise to make such a determination.”

Janet Morana, Executive Director and co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, said the ruling demonstrates a concern for women’s health.

“Overlooked in all this concern about Covid was the fact that the lives of women who might be experiencing ectopic pregnancies were in danger,” she said. “It is vitally important that pregnant women see a doctor in person before taking these drugs.”
