Lord, Your Word teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves.
We pray today that as we exercise our duty to vote,
We may carry it out as an act of love of neighbor.
When we choose our leaders,
We are also choosing our family’s leaders,
Our children’s leaders, and our neighbor’s leaders.
Enable us, then, to choose the best leaders for them,
Leaders who will protect their rights,
Their security, and their freedom,
Leaders who will strengthen their education,
Improve their healthcare and their income,
Protect their businesses,
And enable them to worship you in freedom of conscience.
Lord, may our vote
Be a clear expression of our care for all
Who will be represented and served
By the public officials whom we elect.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
