[Spanish]
Lord Jesus,
We acknowledge you today
As the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
You said that the reason you came into the world
Was to bear witness to the truth.
You taught that the devil is a liar and the Father of Lies,
And your Word declares
That you came into the world to destroy the works of the devil.
We pray, therefore, against all lies
And we pray for the triumph of truth.
Lord, some people think
That the greatest virtue in politics is civility.
We believe, however, that the greatest virtue in politics is truth.
Lord, when candidates lie to us, we are damaged
And our nation is damaged.
We see lying all around us:
Candidates who pretend to be someone they are not,
Who make up stories about their past that never happened,
Who pretend to change their thinking while believing the opposite,
Who pretend elections are safe when they are filled with fraud,
Who pretend violent riots are peaceful protests,
Who pretend men can be women and women can be men,
Who think babies in the womb have no value,
Who say America was birthed in evil,
And who pretend that our nation’s successes just aren’t there.
Lord, save us from the lies that are told all around us.
May we, through our diligent pursuit of truth and our courage to proclaim it,
Help our fellow citizens to see through the lies,
And to vote according to the truth.
And bless our candidates who do speak the truth,
And pay a heavy price for doing so.
May they receive their reward from you!
We worship you, Lord, the Way, the Truth, and the Life,
For you live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
