Lord of Life,
As we vote in this year’s elections,
Your people face destructive ballot measures
That would impose unlimited and unregulated abortion.
These constitutional amendments
Would take away any limits on abortion until birth,
Would remove the rights of parents in regard to their minor age daughters,
Would remove the requirements that only doctors perform abortions,
Would remove health and safety regulations on clinics,
And would force taxpayers to fund abortions.
We pray today for the defeat of these amendments.
We pray against the spirit of deception,
Which makes the words of these amendments sound so good,
As they speak of freedom, health, and limits on government interference.
Yet they disguise the violence of late-term abortion,
The harm done to women by these procedures,
And the destruction done to the family
By the denial of parental rights.
We pray that you protect the constitutions
Of these ten states,
And the rights of the people and their elected representatives
To protect the unborn and preserve the health and safety of women.
Lord, may voters be wise
And reject the abortion ballot measures.
We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
