Lord, as we continue to pray
For your guidance in the races
For governors this year,
We also ask your wisdom
As voters elect other state officials
Across the nation.
We pray for the races for lieutenant governor,
That these may be people who can work effectively
With their Governor to guide the states In the right direction.
We pray for the races for Secretary of State,
Especially given the wide authority they have
To ensure election integrity.
We pray for the races for Attorneys General.
May they enforce the law fairly and effectively.
We pray for the races for superintendent of schools.
Lord, we care about the education of our children.
Free our schools from indoctrination in evil and sin,
From teachers who impose vice rather than inspire virtue,
And from books that poison the minds of the children.
Lord, we pray for races for so many other state officers,
Such as treasurer, controller, auditor, and natural resources commissioner,
Insurance commissioner, agriculture commissioner,
Labor commissioner, and public service commissioner.
May these and all the other state officers who are elected
Fulfill their proper duties
According to their state’s constitution,
And enable your people to live healthy and peaceful lives.
May these elections
Bring blessings to us and to our families.
We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
