[Spanish]
Lord, we pray today
For the thousands of races
For local government across our nation.
Give wisdom to the voters
And the discipline to research
The positions and experience
Of candidates for local office.
Give us mayors
Who can keep our cities safe
And our rights secure.
Give us wise county commissioners,
And city council members.
Give us local district attorneys, sheriffs and constables
Who will enforce the law effectively,
And local judges
Who will decide wisely and fairly.
May voters choose wisely
Their local school superintendents,
Community college district boards
And all other education officials.
May they always secure the rights of parents.
Bless all the elections For Justices of the Peace, assessors,
Recorders and supervisors of elections.
And guide each and every other election
Of local officeholders.
May these elections result in communities
That run effectively, safely, justly and prosperously.
We ask all this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
