The Most Selfless Love

“Then he said to the host who invited him, "When you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment. Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; you should be happy that they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous" (Lk. 14:12-14).

Lord Jesus, we rejoice in Your example of unselfish love,
Dying for us while we were yet sinners,
And continuing to bless us
Though we can never repay You.

Thank You for the call to serve the unborn,
Because they cannot repay or reward us.
From their dwelling in the womb,
They cannot thank us or pray for us,
Nor do they even know the danger they are in.

We pray for all who work in the pro-life movement.

May we realize what an unselfish work this is,
As we pour ourselves out for those who are completely helpless.

And may we remain faithful to Your call to serve
Until You reward us in the Resurrection of the just,
For You live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
