“You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Lk. 10:27).
Lord, You give us the law of love,
You give us the example of love on the cross,
And You give us the power to love as You have loved us.
You call us to love You above all things,
And our neighbor as ourselves.
You call us to recognize our neighbor
As a person like ourselves,
No matter how different they may be.
Lord, give us grace to see our neighbor
In all those more needy and dependent than we are.
Help us to see the children in the womb,
Not as someone else’s problem or someone else’s choice
But as our brothers and sisters,
Entrusted to our care.
Help all people to see their dependence and frailty
As a reason to give them all the more protection,
And never as a reason to kill them.
May we love our unborn neighbors as ourselves.
