An Example of Faith in Action

Priests for Life requested Tom Monaghan, President of Domino's Pizza, to tell us about how his faith has shaped his life and activity. His commitment to the defense of the unborn is strong and constant. We thank him for the following words of testimony which he sent us.

I don't hide the fact that I go to mass every day. I was inspired when I heard that the Miami Dolphins' coach, Don Shula, attends daily mass; and since that time I have made it a practice to faithfully do the same. I have experienced God's blessings both in my life -- and upon Domino's Pizza -- since I have become a daily communicant.

I believe that God honored my growing devotion and faith in him by also allowing the company to grow and thrive. He must have figured that as I gained more and more complete allegiance to His divine will, more physical wealth would be needed in order to serve the plans of that divine will.

This does not mean, of course, that devotion to Christ through prayer and sacrifice will bring monetary wealth. Each person has their vocation -- mine is to share what I have; and through my resources, give back to God by serving those in need. God knows how to use each one of us for His glory, and He gives each one of us the means and grace to accomplish our vocation.
